Core Values:

Our students are known personally and belong to a supportive community.

St. Gertrude the Great’s small student population affords teachers and staff an opportunity to get to know students as individuals and respond to their specific learning needs. The Faculty, parents and students make a personal commitment to excellence and are provided with a supportive, engaging climate to help realize the community goals.

Our challenging curriculum prepares students for college.

All students learn foundational skills needed for success in high school as well as college. Our blend of small group instruction and personalized technology based learning is designed to exceed the entrance requirements for high school. Our students are immersed in a rigorous academic environment that enables them to become productive citizens.

Our committed, enthusiastic teaching staff is comprised of experts in their fields.

Our teachers are positive, dynamic and inspiring in their approach. They all share the same mission and vision – to instill virtue, deepen faith, build character and encourage students to be life- long learners committed to leading successful lives of distinguished service and social justice.

Our use of technology enhances each student’s educational experience.

St. Gertrude the Great is part of the Seton Education Partners Cohort of Blending Learning Schools. Blended Learning is a classroom instruction model that blends: i) direct instruction from a teacher, ii) collaborative learning among students and iii) individualized learning on computers or laptops. The blended learning program collects information about student work on the computers and produces data or reports for teachers. These reports let teachers see, immediately, how much the students understand about the lesson. The goal is to allow teachers to differentiate their instruction to meet the individual needs and pace of each student. Seton Blended Learning scholars outperform national averages by 25% in reading and 30% in math.

Our commitment to Christian values develops morality, integrity and a sense of service.

Each day, St. Gertrude the Great actively promotes the development of a Christian community in order to deepen each student’s relationship with God and with others. In addition, we encourage community service through numerous opportunities made available to students during throughout the year.
